Forcing Spring...

We had a  little cherry tree that was dying in our front yard, so we had to cut it down last week.  I grabbed a branch and brought it inside to see if it would bloom (there were a few little buds). It rewarded me with some beautiful blooms which made me even sadder that the little tree had to go.
so pretty in pink....

  2. Beautiful! We lost one of our cherry trees last year. The other one should be blooming in the next week or so.

  4. *GASP* That is so beautiful! I have a flowering cherry in my yard that smells like candy and I LOVE IT! I really want to get some more because the smell reminds me of a tree we had in my yard growing up. It just brings back memories of sweet summer days/nights, running around the yard playing hide-and-go-seek...*sigh* You will just have to plant another because the flowers are amazing :)

  5. So sad to see a tree go but your blooms from its left-over branch are gorgeous. Enjoy.

  7. How sad that the tree is a goner. I'm glad you got to at least enjoy a little of it's beauty.

  8. 2 weeks ago we cut back all our frost damaged bushes and are waiting with baited breath for it to grow back.

  9. I'm sorry you lost your tree. But your branch arrangement is pretty. We lost a crabapple tree a couple of weeks ago. It was in full bloom but damaged in one of the storms. Its hard when you have to let go of something so beautiful.
