What Gall!

This past week has been pretty eventful and then not eventful…what? You ask? Well, on Wednesday I went in for surgery to have my gallbladder removed. As you can imagine the rush to get everything done that needed to be done before made the beginning of the week a crazy few days…but after, it has been kinda nice and quiet!

The surgery went fine (apparently, though my gallbladder was “packed” full of gallstones…that according to the surgeon…I guess that would be a technical term?). It was done as outpatient surgery (thank the Good Lord!) and I was home that evening. So, now you see why I haven’t had anything delightful to write about this week! Maybe next week will be better.

  1. Hope your recovery is going well! I had my gallbladder out 10 years ago! It was supposed to be outpatient also, but I ended up having to spend the night because they couldn't get my oxygen levels to come up to where they were supposed to be and they had to keep me on oxygen! Gotta love that laproscopic (sp?) surgery though, just a couple bandaids!

  2. Praying you have a speedy recovery. Any surgery, even outpatient takes a lot out of you, so please rest and don’t overdo it. Glad you didn’t have to stay overnight though as that is absolutely no fun.

  5. I found you via Hello Darling and just love your blog.

Glad your surgery went well. I have heard that is so painful - the inflammation nightmare. No thanks. :)

  19. I had my gallbladder out less than a year ago - and that was only 6 weeks after I had a hysterectomy (and having had a c-section the less than a year before that!) Yes, I was getting to know the hospital very well by then....

It was a short recovery and I was out and about that weekend. You may notice that you can't eat fats as well as you use to. Trust me, sometimes I barely make it to the bathroom, if you know what I mean....
