WARNING: On My Soapbox about Complainers!

Yes, I am writing a post to complain about complainers...logical, right?  Seriously, though, I don't understand why some people feel the need to pick out the negative about every single experience in life.  You know the ones I am talking about...they gripe about their job (when there are tons of people that don't have one), they complain about their free time (when there are people who wish they could afford to have "free" time), they complain about their families (when there are people who just wish they had a family), they complain about their co-workers/bosses (when, again, there are people who just wish they had a job!), they complain about how tired they are (when there are people who have responsibilities 24/7 that keep going without complaint!)...the list could go on and on.

Not to say that everyone doesn't complain sometimes, but there are some souls that seem stuck in the mire of negativity so much that they miss out on life.  They seem to be determined to get caught in the victim mentality which they allow to rob them of so much.  It is a shame that they can find the tiny nugget to complain about but they miss the huge boulder of joy sitting right in front of them.

.....climbing off my soapbox now.....complaint ended.

  1. Personally I think they should give~ for free~ the book called " As A Man Thinketh" away starting in the 4th grade and demand folks read it. It would inform them that by their Thoughts and Words they are the ones responcible for manifesting the negative in their lives. I bet they'd change their tune real quick and never utter any other words except " My Life is Perfectly Wonderful in every Way" and if they did-- soon it would be.:-)

  2. I love it! Agree wholeheartedly! I am surrounded by Negative Nellie's and find on FB, Twitter, and blogs that there truly are too many of them in this world.

  3. One of my favorite sayings is..."It is better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness" This tells complainers to do one little thing rather than sit back and complain.

  4. I think everyone needs a vent session now and then. Be it to yourself while driving or to a bestie or on a blog. But a constant complainer does not a good friend make. Too exhausting just to have a conversation with someone like that. And they often bring your mood down too. In terms of blogs and twitter and FB...I simply unfollow. I've stopped caring about following and friending and such.
