Decisions, Decisions...

Fall is quickly approaching, and I keep trying to decide on what purse I want to be my primary "fall bag". I thought this decision would be easier once Initials, Inc.
Now, I can't decide between two distinctly different bags.

Should it be the Bowler in Houndstooth fabric with Red monogramming(since I think RED is going to be one of my favorite colors this season)...

OR
the Hobo in Berkley Plaid with RED monogramming????

So, what do you think?

Happy 58th!!!!

It's a birthday in the Southern Somedays household!!! My DH is celebrating his birthday today, though not really his 58th! I am just getting the biggest kick out of the fact that my oldest DS thought his Dad was turning 58! Ha! Ha! Ha! I think I could get used this whole "suga-daddy" concept...teehee!

On the down side, we aren't truly celebrating until Thursday (I think we will work it in), because of DH's schedule won't see him home this evening to have cake with us!!! We may just have cake in "honor" of his birthday and take a picture so he can fully appreciate the day.

Happy Birthday, handsome...he is a hottie for 58, don't you think?

First Day...

Wow, another school year! I can't believe it. I especially can't believe it because today is the very first day of DD's Senior Year. This morning I am finding myself full of sighs...where have these years gone? I want to just stop time and hold them still.
My big, little man on his way to the 1st day of 2nd grade. He was so sweet this morning when I woke him. He reached up and gave me one of those sleepy hugs and said, "I wish we were born smart so I could stay home."
Here they all are....
It is probably silly that I took a picture of DD's lunch box, but I couldn't help but think this would be the last 1st day of school that I would ever make her lunch. Oh my....

Last Day of Summer Break...

Here is how we spent our last day of Summer Vacation, at the lake. It was a gorgeous, sunny mid-90s kind of a day and seemed like the perfect day for some water fun.
I love seeing how close in size my boys are getting.
They spent most of the day wrestling and trying to wear down each other.
DD was more content to just take it easy, no wrestling for her.
Well, I guess that is technically it for Summer of 2009. On Wednesday they head back to class. Sigh.......

Funky Friday Flowers

When I went to the Post Office earlier in the week I saw this funky flower and just had to take a photo of it. Doesn't it look like something from the "Little Shop of Horrors" It is almost as tall as I am and about a foot across on the top. I asked the Post Office lady what kind of flower it was, and she told me, AND I wrote it down and then, of course, lost the paper. It has a resemblance to a poinsettia on steroids but it wasn't!

Good Deals to Be Had at Old Navy

Yesterday, the kids and I went to the mall to mess around. When I say mess around, y'all know what I mean, right? We didn't have anything in particular to buy and it was hot outside so we decided to be mall rats for the afternoon. Occasionally roaming the mall brings me back to my roots; I was a child of the 80s doncha know!

I did find some cuteness at a great price at Old Navy http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/home.do?ssiteID=ON. For some folks that doesn't seem like a big deal, but since I have always kind of been on the fence about Old Navy, it was a pleasant surprise. No, their prices haven't ever been bad, but their quality and style hasn't always really been my thing. My DD loves Old Navy and she has a talent for pulling things together that look great for a song, so maybe I will just follow her ques and keep my eye on Old Navy more in the future. In addition to my oldest DS getting 2 pairs of flip-flops for $5, I got:

this adorable little top off the Clearance Rack for a cool $5!

This top was the Old Navy Deal of the Week and I snapped it up for only $8. I picked it up in white and think I will pair it with a brown tank and jeans for a fun fall look.

Not bad for less than $15, total!

Vacation 2009...

Vacation 2009 came and went too fast....

When we are on vacation, this is one of my favorite spots...I like to sit here and read, pray and just reflect - often until late into the night.
If you have never dipped your feet in the magic that is the low country you have missed something wonderful.

Vacation...playground time.

Just blocks from where we stay there is the coolest park so one afternoon we enjoyed a little trip there. I wish we had a park like this at home DS#2 tackling the coolest Jungle Gym thingie!
Baby Brother and Big Sis!

Frisbee Flinging! DS#2 made it!
DS#1
My girl and me!

DD and Charleston...

I had to take a photo while riding with DD on her 1st drive across the bridge. She was so excited to finally get to drive it herself!
