Hooked on Houses, have you seen it?

Have you see this site? IT is wonderful (and trust me... time consuming, because once you start you can't stop)!!! I love houses and this website just hits my love button. I don't know if many of you know it, but when I went to college ~ back in the day ~ I studied Interior Design; so, although I don't practice anymore, I still have a deep love of houses and homes. I suppose it is a bit voyeristic, but I just love looking at houses of all kinds.

Not to mention, with our upcoming move, I am loving looking at this website and trying to find some inspiration for our new home! So y'all head over and take this quiz to see if you are "Hooked on Houses" like me http://hookedonhouses.net/are-you-hooked/  ....I scored a perfect 13! What is your score?

Retail Therapy Thursday (on the cheap)!

Look at these cuties! I popped into a shoe shop yesterday that I hadn't been in before and I was DELIGHTED to find a couple of super-cute-shoe finds. Not only are they cute and perfect for perking up some currently unknown Spring/Summer outfit (s) but they were a steal. I snagged both pairs for only $25.00...yes, you read that correctly. Of course, they aren't designer ~ but I thought they were adorable and the wanna be frugalista in me is thrilled.

Bookstore EXCITEMENT!

Did you love this?

IF so, now you can be like me and get excited about this....

It has been too many years!

I am not one to pre-order books but this one just made my list!

From Amazon.com:
From the author of The Official Preppy Handbook comes a new take on the old world that Lisa Birnbach turned into an international best-selling phenomenon thirty years ago.

True Prep looks at how the old guard of natural-fiber-loving, dog-worshipping, G&T-soaked preppies adapts to the new order of the Internet, cell phones, rehab, political correctness, reality TV and . . . polar fleece.
A small sample:

• Wardrobe: Recent prep brands we are forced to recognize. How to tell Casual Friday from, say, Saturday.
• Money: We never talk about it.
• Food: Does the Food Network mean we’re going to have to cook? Bake? Now you’re going too far.
• Scandals: Poor Mrs. Astor. When Mummy’s plastic surgery goes terribly wrong. Rehab and the slammer: the new prep schools.
• We’re outta here: When to name something after yourself, and when not. The right obituary. What to do with your dogs if you predecease them.
• NO TEXTING AT THE TABLE, PLEASE.

True Prep promises to be a whole new old sensation.

Opi and Nicole

I haven't done a product review in a really long time.  Maybe that is because my Retail Therapy appointments have been few and far between the last few months...hmmm?

No matter, I love finding a deal and always like to pass them along.  Last week, I was in Walmart and had a coupon for Opi's Nicole nail polish.  Yes, OPI at Walmart!  I love Opi polishes and think they hold up just about better than anything, but with my recent frugalista lifestyle, I have avoided buying any so I was excited to try their Nicole line.  I had a $1 off coupon and was pleased to see that the price was only $6.50 anyway (yes, Opi for $5.50 was pretty exciting!).  I got a really fun hot pink color called "Playin' Hooky" which is just what this Spring starved girl needed.  So, I have been wearing it for a week and love how well it has held up (Opi quality!!!).

Oh, yeah...I received no compensation for this product review...only a great new nail polish discovery!

What is in your book bag?

Do you ever clean out your children's book bags?  Apparently, I don't do it  OFTEN enough!!!  Last weekend, I sat down and started pawing through the black hole that is my DS2's book bag and much to my horror I found that his History Book was being eaten by a.....by a long, long lost banana!

BLECK!!!!  BLECK!!!! DOUBLE BLECK!!!!
Oh, yeah we will be paying for that textbook!

Spring ideas...

It has been a particularly long, and cold winter this year ~ even in the South.  Old Man winter had quite a vigorous hold on us this year and has fought to keep himself alive and well more than I remember in the past few winters.  Well, I am done with it...finished...Spring is what I want.  Let the daffodils and tulips burst into bloom!   I want to hear the loud songs from the azaleas! Today was a lovely day here and I got the urge to start thinking ahead to Easter just in time for Martha Stewart to send one of  her great idea emails. IF you don't receive them, pop over and sign up for just the kind you would like.  I love them!  Here is a link to some of her cool Spring and Easter ideas:  Martha Stewart's Everything Easter.

So, do you decorate for Spring and Easter?  I am looking so forward to it!
