Needing some advice...

OK girls, I need some advice...and quick!  What do you use as moisturizer on your hands?  Sounds simple, huh?  Well, I haven't found anything that seems to be really getting the job done and I am a little discouraged.  I am feeling a little sensitive here about the appearance of my hands, especially on the tops...those just can't be MY hands...can they?  I used to use something that had Vitamin C in it and I loved it, but like all good things it had to disappear from store shelves, never to be seen again.

So, I am opening it up here for some suggestions.   What do you use?  Do you use different products for night/day and what do you use for in between? Tell me about your hand care routine.  Please...I am desperate for some tried and true recommendations!

  1. I use a lavender lotion from Trader Joe's. It's their generic version of the Avalon cosmetics lavender lotion and it's great, not greasy at all!

  2. I have always stuck with the vaseline and gloves regimen at night when my hands were super dry. I put sunscreen on the backs of my hands every day (well, when I remember) and this helps to slow down the aging process. I also exfoliate the backs of my hands with various scrubs and then moisturize right after.

  3. This stuff is fantastic...Neutrogena Norwegian Formula fast absorbing hand cream! It works wonders!

  4. Right now I am using Jergens. Because it reminds me of my Grandmother. :) But, the truth is I have always used lotion liberally. I rarely pass the lotion bottle without doing a little squirt! But, I'm not sure my hands are what your looking for. I do think the vaseline with gloves overnight is a good thing. I've actually done that with my feet.

  5. For every day I use Neutrogena as it is rather thick, but not greasy. When they are red I use either Vaseline or Burt's Bee's hand cream and gloves.

  6. My MIL gave me a tube of the Say Yes to Carrots hand and elbow cream and I LOVE it!! I've been using it all winter, just once at night before bed and I hardly ever have to use anything during the day. Used to, I would have to put lotion on all day long, especially living in the desert. And it does have Vitamin C in it, too. I think they sell it at CVS, but if you can't find it out anywhere, try ordering it online :-)

  7. Pure Shea butter. It's about $30 a jar-but nothing works better. Go to Beth Bath & Beyond-they should have something close. Or if you live near a nice spa-they will have some really great PURE shea butter (lavendar is my favorite).

  9. You living up here in ther great white north, leaves my skin really dry. During the winter months I either take baths or sponge myself down with good old pain mineral oil. It works wonders!

  10. Try Burt's Bees Ageless handcream with pomegranate or Kiehl's ultimate strength hand salve. The Kiehl's is a bit of a splurge, but it will make a difference immediately.

  11. I'm a big fan of Vaeseline Intensive Care...the one in the white container...and I am religious about putting moisturizer on each and every time I wash my hands. I don't like anything too greasy, so this is perfect for me.

  12. I have recently found Burt's Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme. Not too expensive and smells great. Much more moisturizing than lotion and smells better than vaseline. HTH

  16. In drastic times, I use the Neutrogena Norwegian Fisherman's Formula. Everyday, I use a small drop of olive oil, which works really well. I keep a small tube of L'Occitane hand cream in my bag.

  17. It doesn't take much of a drop in temps here in the desert for my hands to get super dry. A dermotogist suggested I use Neutrogena Hand Cream (Norwegian Formula) several times a day. It is a bit greasy at first, but absorbs very quickly. What I like is that it will last through several hand-washings before you need to reapply. It doesn't have any odor either. I use it on my feet with socks at night. I also really slather it on my hands at night just before bed. Hope you find something that works.

  22. I love the Caswell-Massey Alomond & Aloe Hand and body emulsion with silk. The scent disappears so it won't bother your perfume. I have never found anything to leave my hands so soft. I have sensitive skin and I have not had any problems with it.
