My neighbors often release Chinese Sky Lanterns (also known as Wish Lanterns)

into the night sky and I love it! I think they are magical.

 1940s, Jasper, GA - my sweet Grandmother checking her mail at the hotel she and my Grandfather owned.
She also sold bait for fisherman, thus the "fish" sign above the mailbox.
