Beauty among the weeds...

"Then God saw everything that He made,
and indeed it was very good."
Genesis 1:31 (NKJV)

I was driving down a road this week and saw this amazing "field" of thistles. Aren't they just beautiful? God is so amazing...to create such beauty...when all we often see is weeds.

  1. My husband is always laughing at me for noticing the "weeds" along the side of the road. I prefer to think of them as "natural local flora and fauna!"

  2. "Even Soloman in all of his glory was not arrayed as one of these." Thats the first thing that came to mind.

They're quite beautiful when you look at them, and is the way of wildflowers or weeds, they are freely given in profusion! Wonderful observations, my friend!

  3. I love seeing glimpes of beauty in unexpected places. It's good for the soul.

I also wanted to tell you that I love seeing the pictures of your beautiful home. Maybe you will inspire me to get off my butt and start tackling some much needed home improvement projects of my own.

  4. If only we took more time appreciating that instead of worrying about things that we think matter but really don't, know what I mean?

  5. I so look forward to your perspectives!! And thistle is a gorgeous weed!! Go figure that the weeds grow profusely (and many are beautiful) while we toil away to get the pretty things to grow in our yards. I guess that's the curse! But God does really good on the "naturally " growing ones!!!

  6. They are beautiful, but they hurt worse than roses.
