Just another article to make me excited about the movie: The Help

In The Help, Octavia Spencer plays Minny, a maid renowned for her Southern cooking. © DreamWorks II Distribution Co., LLC. All Rights Reserved.
As if I needed anymore encouragement or reason to be excited about the movie based on the novel, The Help by Kathryn Stockett, along comes this article by Vanessa Gregory in Food & Wine magazine: The Help: Southern Food. We Southerners have deep seated love affairs with not only our land but also our food and from my travels I haven't ever found anything like it!  I can believe it when the director, Tate Tayler (according to the article) says, "About 20 minutes into the movie, you're craving fried chicken."

  3. I have finally started seeing some commercials for this movie. I don't usually want to see movies made from books I like because the movie never seems to follow the book and I am usually disappointed. But I am going to give this one a try. I am anxious to see it.

  8. My neighbor goes to church with the twins who played, Mae Mobley, in the film. The film release is sort of a big deal here in Jackson, Mississippi. Then again, not much happens around here :)
