She Got Married!

I don't think it could have been a more perfect day for my bestie to have gotten married.  It was beautiful, clear and the perfect temperature...even our famous humidity minded it's own business!
She and I did get one last hurrah together and spent her wedding day, just the two of us.  We went to a very bitter-sweet lunch, then had her hair done and got her dressed and all the details just so.  Of course, then it was off to the venue for photos and lots of nerves but happy ones!
It was a small, intimate, but elegant ceremony and their love for each other was felt by everyone.
Cupcakes instead of a big wedding cake!  So Cute!
Can't you just see how happy she is and he is truly a gem.
I wish them a lifetime of joy and happiness full of new adventures.

Today is the Day!

Everything is packed and the loading crew is here stuffing it all into the back of a big truck.  We are saying good bye to Florence, South Carolina today...3 years to the day of our arrival.  How weird is that?  So many friends have been popping in and out the last couple of days and I think our good byes have all been said.  It is time.  It is time for the new adventure.

I wonder what this new season will bring.

Father's Day 2013

Father's Day 2013 hasn't been a traditional celebration.  I didn't cook a special meal.  We didn't even go out for lunch after church or anything.  Because we are in the final days before our move, we spent the majority of the day after church tying up loose ends before our movers arrive tomorrow to pack. My Dh got to do glamorous  things like loading his truck down with all kinds of things that the movers won't move and he also gets the wonderful task of transporting our 2 cats during his 4 hour drive back to Edenton today.  Yes, I know that makes me out to be wife of the year...

But, I can't let the day go by without shouting out how much I love him and how proud I am to be his wife and what a GREAT Daddy he is.  The past few months haven't been easy and he has had to make some decisions that were difficult, but he made the choices he thought were best for our family and I love him for that.  He is a husband and father that demonstrates servant-leadership daily.  He is kind and strong and we are so blessed by him every single day.  Happy Father's Day, my dear sweet husband!!!!

In other news, we had a final Sunday with our church family which was  bitter sweet because it is never easy to say goodbye to family, but we are so glad to have these people in our lives...if only for too short a season.  So, all in all, we are ready to move though we will never forget the sweet friends we have in Florence, South Carolina!  Keep checking back as I share our adventures in our new home, Edenton, North Carolina!

Taste of the Symphony 2012, recap!

I am a few weeks late (ok, a month) in posting about theFlorence Symphony Guild's  Taste of the Symphony 2012...I guess you can dock my pay.  This year's event was themed "A Simply Southern Evening" and was thoroughly fantastic.  We had somewhere between 500 and 600 hundred people turn out to enjoy the festivities.  The decorations were lovely and the food was Divine!  It was a wonderful night and has me excited for next years event already.
Even from the front gate, you knew you were in for an amazing evening!
I love the way the committee dressed up this gate!

The below photos courtesy of Photographs by Andrea

The night was filled with friends, lots of laughter, wonderful drinks and probably the best food in the Pee Dee!  The chefs out did themselves this year providing such goodies as Low Country Shrimp & Grits, Quail & Grits, Mixed Seafood Crepes, Lamp Chops, Catfish Stew, Deep Fried Oysters, Blue Cheese Scones with Beef & Horseradish Chive-Cream.  There were also offerings of Sushi, Pork Tenderloin, Clam Chowder, Crab Cakes, Stuffed Mushrooms, Seared Breast of Duck with an amazing Roasted Beet Vinaigrette complemented with Fennel & Sun Dried Tomato Carolina Gold Risotto...not to mention more sweets than you can name.  I just can't say enough about how much the Chefs do to make this event special and to support the Florence Symphony Orchestra.  The Taste of the Symphony is a showcase of how much talent we have in our area and what a wonderful community we live in!

So, y'all mark your calendars for April 18, 2013 for the next Taste of the Symphony and join us for a fantastic night.  For more information on upcoming Florence Symphony Guild events please feel free to email: FlorenceSymphonyGuild@gmail.com

Thank you to Photographs by Andrea for your support!

Found Dog in Florence, SC

This sweet one "found" us last night.  I am sure her family is frantic and I hope someone recognizes her.  She has no collar but is obviously well fed and very gentle.  Found in the Jeffries Creek area of Florence. I took her to the vet today and no microchip was found.

My kiddos would love nothing more than to make her part of our family but I am sure she is being missed in her own home.  Please contact me (bellamichellesc@gmail.com) if you know where she lives.
